10 Most Likable Movie Villains Of All Time

8. Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin)

As a fan of all things Batman, it's easy to hate just about everything Joel Schumacher brought to the table, including Mr. Freeze. He, at least in some small way, helped ruin the franchise that Tim Burton had so masterfully rebuilt during an otherwise fruitless time for superhero movies.

But as a character, you have to feel for the poor guy. His primary motivation in life is to save his dying wife from a horrible disease. His secondary motivation is making puns. That combination, even when portrayed by a tone deaf Arnold Schwarzenegger, probably makes him the most likable villain in any Batman movie.

Freeze nearly destroys an entire city to save the love of his life, which, in any other movie, would make him an endearing anti-hero. Does his dedication to his wife excuse godawful one-liners like "Let's kick some ice"? No, but his desperate sense of humor is at least fitting for his character.

While Arnie's take on the cold-hearted scientist-turned-supervillain wasn't exactly mind-blowing, but it ended up being one of those so-bad-it-was-delightful kind of performances. Watch Batman & Robin again with an open mind...and just cool it with all those Mr. Freeze criticisms.
