10 Most Ridiculous Uses Of Product Placement In Movies

7. Transformers - Xbox Is Going To Kill Us All!

Transformers Xbox At some point near the end of Michael Bay's first Transformers film (a franchise I take absolutely every opportunity to bash over the head) we discover that the Cosmic Cube-Shaped McGuffin that everyone has been chasing after the whole time has the power to bring electronics to life and turn them into killer robots. This is not used by anybody for any particular reason and no one ever chooses to weaponize this power. It just seems to be there because Michael Bay's cocaine was REALLY good that day. The Cube inadvertently brings alive Mountain Dew vending machine and a brand new X-Box 360 to life so that they can promptly attack a nearby lady. And nobody really does anything about it. Those robots are never caught or stopped or even seen again after this moment, and that woman is almost certainly dead from having a can of Mountain Dew torpedo-launched through the back of her skull. Boy, am I thirsty! But I wonder what might quench my thirst? Perhaps this murderous robot ammunition?
