10 Most Ridiculous Weapons Used In Action Movies

Fear the slinky. FEAR IT!

In an action movie, everything can be a weapon. Since the heroes or villains of action movies kinda HAVE to be trained and experienced fighters for it to work, it makes sense that the particularly resourceful can make anything they can find into a tool for murdering a room full of bad guys, or making use of a weapon in creative ways.

However just because you CAN doesn't mean that you SHOULD.

Whether because they want an action scene to stand out, or because they had an idea so odd that it had no choice but to make it into the movie, there are some weapons in action movies that are just, well, bizarre.

From weapons designed to BE weapons, to improvised tools used by the hero to get out of a scrape, anything and everything is on the table so long as it's the last thing you would expect to be implemented in an action movie seeking to take itself at all seriously.

The following action movie weapons are nothing short of utterly ridiculous - and film fans wouldn't have it any other way.

10. The UV Arc - Blade Trinity

On the surface, this actually seems like the coolest vampire hunting weapon ever. The UV arc, from the otherwise disappointing Blade: Trinity, was a weapon made to kill vampires as efficiently as possible by fusing together their two biggest weaknesses: sunlight and sharp stake-like objects being lobbed at them at high speeds.

The UV arc is a high tech bow and arrow that shoots arrows that give off UV rays almost twice as powerful as the surface of the sun. Now you may read that and start cackling with maniacal glee because, well, that sounds awesome! Certainly a quick way to deal with any vampires that try to mess with you.

But the more observant among us may be noticing a little glitch in the design of this weapon from my description. The rays given off by the UV arc's arrows are hotter than the surface of the sun. That sounds like a recipe for disaster since, if you're THAT hot, you'll set fire to entire rooms just by standing in them. So yeah the UV arc will take out any vampires that cross your path, but let's just say your victory will be...short lived, as it were.
