10 Most Unnecessary Movie Deaths Ever

6. Cyclops & Professor X - X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Cyclops & Jean#] Where has Cyclops gone? Oh wait there he is, he seems upset about Jean Grey, why is he shooting the sea? Oh yeah, he is angry. There is Jean Grey, aw they are back together again. What, wait... He's dead? Nah that is a plot device, he will show up and save the day. Why would they kill off one of the best loved X-Men characters? Oh okay, he is dead. What? Did they just kill of Professor X too? This is such a terrible film, I cannot believe this was directed by Bryan Singer...wait, what? Who? The guy who made Rush Hour? That explains it. - Is how a lot of people must have felt when watching The Last Stand. Whether these two deaths were for dramatic effect or some other reason, they really missed the mark. Coming of the back of the greatest comic book commodity at the time, X-Men: The Last Stand had the chance to be a great film. Instead, we got the death of the most important characters (the two leaders effectively), Brett Ratner directing, shoddy script, mis-casing of Vinnie Jones and Kelsey Grammer and a whole host of other issues that effectively buried the franchise. When we look back at X-Men in film, can we all agree to just ignore this and X-Men Origins: Wolverine?
