10. Ash - Alien

Despite boasting all the ruthlessness you'd expect from a malevolent android, Alien's Ash (Ian Holm) is eventually disabled by the combined efforts of the Nostromo's remaining crew, even if things almost went very differently.

While Ash attempts to murder Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), there's a noticeable goof where the camera operator bumps into some wind chimes aboard the ship.

Hilariously, this prompts Ash to actually look in the direction of the wind chimes for a few seconds, buying Ripley some precious time.

And so later in the scene when Ash tries to suffocate her with a magazine, he's interrupted by Parker (Yaphet Kotto) before he can finish the job.

Were it not for the cameraman tearing down the fourth wall and confusing Ash for a few valuable seconds, Ripley would most likely have succumbed to the attack.

Instead, Ripley was saved, and Ash ended up decapitated and torched for his troubles.
