Why is He an Idiot? Does it even need saying? It's Homer. In the course of the TV show he has done more idiotic things than anyone could contemplate as humanly possible, and when he and the rest of Springfield hit the big screen his idiocy did not falter: Homer single-handedly causes every major problem presented to the town during the course of the film.
Top Idiotic Moment Homer befriends a pig that accompanies him everywhere during the first portion of the film. But it's not just any pig, it's a pig that can walk on the ceiling (with a little help from Homer). Thus, Spiderpig was born.
How He Saved the Day Even after contaminating a river, causing Springfield to be locked inside a glass dome, and making good his escape, Homer, in his lovably, laughably stupid way, fails to see what needs to be done to right his problems. After a touching sequence where he recoups his love for his family, Homer finally realizes his mistakes and sets out to save the day. Consequently, everything that could go wrong does, but in true Homer fashion the day is saved at the last minute.
