As the weeks tick away until Captain America: Civil War hits screens, we can expect a deluge of information to start trickling down soon enough, but this week was all about the latest Star Wars productions, the certain A-lister joining the Fast and the Furious franchise, the rapper who might be facing off against one of cinema's most iconic monsters, and so much more.

Iconic characters returning to the screen were a big theme this week, again reminding us (and movie studios) how potent the power of nostalgia truly can be. Whether these callbacks will work or merely seem desperate remains to be seen, but we're intrigued all the same.

As blockbuster season well and truly takes root in multiplexes the world over, here are 10 movie spoilers we didn't know last week...

10. Spider-Man's Solo Movie Will Feature Other Superheroes

Marvel Studios

Spider-Man's new solo movie, simply titled Spider-Man for the time being, hits cinemas July 7, 2017, and this week Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige seemed to confirm that his standalone film will indeed feature other superheroes.

He said, "He is in the universe now...and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth." Though we probably won't hear for a little while which MCU characters will be joining Spidey, it wouldn't be surprising to see Iron Man show up for a spell, given that Peter Parker is clearly on his side in Civil War, and it's widely believed that Tony Stark probably helped build Spidey's suit.

Considering that Robert Downey Jr. constantly rejects the idea of Iron Man 4, this would be a smart way to keep him in the MCU until Infinity War without requiring a starring role: he could appear in a supporting part akin to Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, perhaps busting out his own suit to help Spidey at a pivotal moment.
