10 Movies Interrupted By Horrific Violence In The Cinema

10. Watchmen

Before Watchmen even hit the cinemas the censors objected to an aspect of the trailer which would prove to be a somewhat prophetic example of censorship: the original trailer featured a shot in which a character pointed a gun at the audience, and the studio was forced to remove it before passing it for release. While the violent incident which took place during a midnight screening of Watchmen didn't cause any harm to anyone other than the person holding the gun, there's little doubt that the other members of the audience were shocked when they heard the gunshot erupting near the back of the auditorium. Perhaps only the victim himself - a young unnamed man who committed suicide by shooting himself in the head - knows what led him to kill himself in such a manner, or if there was any significance to carrying out the act in a movie theatre during a screening of Watchmen.
