10 Movies That Could Be 2018's Sleeper Hits

Although there's very little in the way of promotional shots or trailers for Tag, its unique premise and talented cast could stand it in good stead for a stronger run than much of the competition.

Based on true events that appeared as a piece in The Wall Street Journal, the story follows a group of old classmates that play an annual game of tag that requires them to travel all across the country to continue a game that began when they were in high school. From that, we can only assume that hijinks will then ensue.

Its a solid hook, and although Tag marks director Jeff Tomsic's feature debut, the filmmaker is backed by an impressive lineup that includes Ed Helms, Jeremy Renner, Hannibal Buress, Jake Johnson, Jon Hamm and Isla Fisher.

However, with a June 15 release date that puts it head-to-head with The Incredibles 2 and right between Solo: A Star Wars Story and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, if the reviews aren't kind, then Tag has as much chance of disappearing without a trace as it does of finding an audience.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
