10 Movies That Don't Deserve Their 100% Rotten Tomatoes Rating

They're good, but they're not that good.

Movie fans all have their own preferred sources when it comes to getting a feel for upcoming releases. Some choose the user-based ratings offered by IMDB, where the general movie-going public ratings offer a more democratic evaluation of what's worth watching and what isn't. Others are less trusting of the opinions of the masses and place their faith in "professional" film critics and opt for sites like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes as the first port of call before shelling out their cash for a cinema ticket, DVD or Blu-ray.

No single website can rightfully claim to be the definitive place to go for accurate film analysis - after all, our tastes are varied and one man's masterpiece is another man's borefest, and different critics - indeed, different websites - reflect our various preferences. The mainstream action movie fan or teenager obsessed with Twilight is inevitably going to have a different view on what's hot and what's not than a hardcore cinephile who enjoys wading through hours of silent German Expressionism, and any decent reviewer should know that when assessing the effectiveness of a film its target audience should be taken into consideration.

In this sense, Rotten Tomatoes is as good a place as any to get a feel for the critical response to movies, and it would be reasonable to assume that any film earning 100% is sure to be a worthy film destined to go down in the pantheon of cinema history as something of a masterpiece.

While this is the case for the vast majority of films which have earned the coveted 100% rating, there are a few exceptions to the unwritten rule. The following list covers 10 movies which have been ranked 100% on Rotten Tomatoes which, while often great films, are flawed productions and don't deserve such high praise. We've also suggested a more appropriate rating - let us know whether or not you agree in the comments below.
