10 Movies That Have Shunned Comic-Con 2015

No Marvel movies? Then what's the point of Comic-Con exactly?

This year's San Diego Comic-Con might just end up being the most underwhelming ever. Disney and Lucasfilm are plotting a big Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel and 20th Century Fox are expected to bring Deadpool, Fantastic Four, and X-Men: Apocalypse to the event, but pretty much every other major movie studio have decided to sit this one out. Marvel Studios, Paramount, and Sony are three of the biggest, and without them, this year's Comic-Con really isn't all that exciting. Some of the biggest movies of 2016 won't have any sort of presence, robbing fans of learning more and getting an early look at many of the most highly anticipated movies of all-time. That's no exaggeration either; a fair few of the releases skipping Comic-Con have been on the wishlists of fanboys for years now. As Hall H panels can set a studio back hundreds of thousands of dollars, perhaps their decision not to attend makes sense after all. For years, many major studios have actually decided not to bother with Comic-Con as they don't believe it helps them in a big way. The opinions of a few thousand fans don't make or break a movie's success in their eyes, but Comic-Con really can generate the kind of buzz around a film which helps make it a hit. 2015 is by far the worst year yet for them shunning the event though, and here you will find the ten biggest upcoming releases which have decided to turn their back on Comic-Con...
