10 Non-Essential Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters We’ve (Sadly) Only Seen Once

10. The Destroyer Armour (Thor)

Destroyer Okay, so the Destroyer Armour isn't a character as such (though it can operate for short periods of its own accord in the comics), but it's an entity that has only appeared in one movie and one we'd like to see again. In its brief appearance in the Thor movie, in which it destroyed a couple of Frost Giants who were intruding in Odin's trophy room, it was also utilised by Loki to attack Thor during his brother's time as a mortal on Earth. The Destroyer caused some relatively minor damage in a New Mexico town, then went on to kill the mortal Thor whilst under Loki's control. Thor was, of course, brought back to life thanks to his bravery in confronting the Destroyer whilst powerless. When he was once again empowered by Mjolnir, Thor defeats the armour with consummate ease, deflecting its energy blasts back at it with his hammer before using his weather control powers to create a tornado to lift it high in to the sky. The appearance was so anti-climatic and brief from an entity that is so much more formidable €“ near unstoppable, in fact €“ in the comic books that we really need to see more of it - not least just to see what it is fully capable of. Fingers crossed it will reappear in Thor: The Dark World in the next couple of weeks.
