10 Potentially Awesome Movies That Need To Escape From Development Hell

9. Justice League

character_bio_576_justiceleague1 A live-action version of the Justice League up on the big screen is every comic book fan's dream. In Justice League you get the likes of Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman all fighting together. It's essentially the DC version of The Avengers. Warner Bros have been wanting to make the film since 2007 and seem ready to throw an unlimited amount of money at it. Rumours and speculation over the film has been ridiculous so it's hard to see what has substance and what is really made up by the internet. Mad Max director George Miller was originally in the director's seat, but pre-production was postponed as the studio had reservations about the script. An official cast for this early incarnation was never formally announced but names like Adam Brody, Common, DJ Cotrona and Armie Hammer were set for the main roles, something that fans were very displeased with. Warner Bros eventually put the film on hiatus and George Miller's adaptation was formally cancelled in 2010 as Warner Bros looked to re-evaluate their plans for the series. The prospect of seeing a Justice League movie ignited again after Marvel's monster success with The Avengers and Will Beall was commissioned to write a screenplay, but apparently the studio hated his take and it was binned. Plans were for a release in 2015, which seems very unlikely at this point as no director or cast has been formally attached. The chances of a Justice League movie escaping from development hell rests highly on the success of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, which given Snyder's track record doesn't leave us with much hope. Earlier in the year the internet exploded with rumours of Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale being involved with the project but these were soon denied and both men are very busy anyway. The chances of seeing a Justice League movie in the next few years seem very slim, which given the commercial potential of the project seems foolish from Warner Bros.
