10 Predictions For 2018's Most Iconic Movie Deaths

2. Captain America - Avengers: Infinity War

The big question on everyone's lips leading up to Avengers: Infinity War is: who will die? The arrival of Thanos (John Brolin) will most certainly result in at least a few Avengers being killed or seriously injured, and to fully convey the extent of Thanos' power, he really needs to murder an A-list player.

While there's a convincing argument to be made that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will be the victim - to the extent that some believe his death at Thanos' hand even sneakily appears in the trailer - wouldn't it be so much more poetic if Captain America (Chris Evans) died instead?

For starters, everyone thought he was going to die in Civil War and he survived, so having him die in his next time up to bat would be a fitting subversion of expectations.

In addition to giving the surviving Avengers their best-ever motivation to defeat Thanos in the next movie, it'd do wonders for Stark's character development, as he'd inevitably be haunted by the fact he never made proper amends with his estranged superhero pal.

And on top of that, it gives Bucky (Sebastian Stan) the perfect opportunity to take up the Cap mantle for the future, while allowing Chris Evans to make a graceful exit from the MCU and further pursue his planned filmmaking career.

And you know what? Even if they decide they want Steve Rogers to come back, just use the Eye of Agamotto. Simple.
