10 Predictions For 2018's Most Iconic Movie Deaths

9. Rocky Balboa - Creed II

Sylvester Stallone's boxing legend could've died in any one of the last few Rocky movies and it would've made narrative sense, but there's an undeniable charm to seeing the old slugger still up and active, be it inconceivably fighting men half his age or training the hot-tempered son of his dead pal.

Creed saw Balboa fighting off a grim non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis, though the end of the movie seemed to indicate he was recovering well. However, given Rocky's generally rough physical shape, it wouldn't be remotely surprising if the illness returned to finish him off in the upcoming sequel.

There have even been rumours swirling that Dolph Lundgren's Ivan Drago - who is confirmed to be returning - may take over training Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) in the third act of the movie after Rocky dies, as an act of redemption to atone for killing Adonis' father Apollo (Carl Weathers) in Rocky IV.

If director Steven Caple Jr. can pull it off, it'll be one of the year's most emotionally shattering death scenes, and bring a major cinematic chapter to a close while allowing Adonis' story to continue with an inevitable glut of future sequels.
