10 Problems Fans STILL Won't Admit About The DCEU

9. There Are Too Many Different Continuities

Back before Justice League changed everything, the DC screen multiverse was already overly complex. Alongside the movies, the likes of Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow exist as the "Arrowverse", with the Supergirl universe annex linked to it. The Gotham dimension is different (and its weirdness sets it apart, but it's still there).

There might be some insistence that there's no competition between the big screen and the small screen, but proximity is a nightmare when the characters and story-telling on the latter is better than the former. Even Marvel struggled with the distinction between the Netflix shows and the MCU and they were consciously linked.

And now it's getting even more complex. Now, there's the fact that Matt Reeves The Batman will be in another timeline to the established movies. And that Joaquin Phoenix's The Joker origin movie will be too. And then The Suicide Squad and Birds Of Prey will presumably also be separate now with the reboot. How are we supposed to keep up?

Talk about a crisis on infinite earths.
