As complicated, messy and unlikely as it happening may be, a large number of movie-goers (and indeed some of the stars of said movies) would love to see the Marvel Cinematic Universe merging with Fox's X-Men/Fantastic Four franchise and Sony's Amazing Spider-Man franchise (of course, a number of people also justifiably have their reservations). Granted, seeing the likes of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark interacting with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man would be very cool, as would seeing villains like Thanos, Magneto and Doctor Doom locking horns, but would it make a lot of sense? And would it be worth the hassle? Sadly, the answer is "probably not" (and the use of the word "probably" is being extremely optimistic). As spectacular as a merger would be, and as wild as it might send a lot of the fans of each franchise, it would be horribly convoluted and would bring with it a massive number of problems and questions.
