10 Pulp Comic Book Heroes Who Deserve An Epic Movie Comeback

6. Doc Savage

Doc Savage, birth name Clark Savage Jr, is a child prodigy in every sense of the word. If you thought raising your kid to be good at the piano or violin was hard, Savage was raised to be near superhuman. His resume boasts the special skills of martial artist, physician, surgeon, scientist, adventurer, inventor, explorer, researcher, and musician with other talents like superior strength, endurance, a photographic memory, voice replicator, and a master of disguise. He's the Mary Sue before there was a "Mary Sue". Savage is someone who stands out as being a prototype to later popular characters like Johnny Quest, Indiana Jones, and especially Superman. Despite not having any metaphysical powers like John Carter on Mars, Savage is the blueprint for all the boy scouts of the superhero world. He could do no wrong and fought for justice, courage, and country every step of the way. Currently, Lethal Weapon and Iron Man 3 writer/director Shane Black is rumored to be working on an adaptation of the classic macho man to be produced by Sony pictures, but specifics of the story are unknown. Since initial discussions began many months ago, no major announcements have been made. But one thing's for sure, after getting audiences so accustomed with the dark and dreary, an unabashed good guy might be a breath of fresh air.
