10 R-Rated Characters Ruined In PG-13 Movies

8. Alien Vs Predator

Deadpool 2
20th Century Fox

Two of the greatest killing machines in movie history going up against each other, how could this fail? By forcing it to be PG-13 and thus avoiding the horror and visceral killings that made both the Predator and Alien so iconic.

Of course humans had to be involved and die for the plot to work, but toning down to hit a rating really hurt the movie. We didn't get the true brutality that this battle should have had. Ultimately, team up movies rarely work, but if you're going to do it - play to the strengths, which in this case was gore and violence, the two things a PG-13 can't have.

Neither franchise has really recovered from the disappointment of this film, recently The Predator went back and forth as to what rating was being aimed for...showing lessons still hadn't been learned at FOX. Both now face an uncertain future under Disney.
