10 Reasons Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Better Than The Avengers

Hey, it's Star-Prince!

"I-I-I-I-I'm hooked on a feeeeling!" Seriously, if you're one of the thousands of people who have already flocked to see the brilliant Guardians of the Galaxy, not only will you have that song (and a host of others) stuck in your head, you're also likely to have been blown away by what is undoubtedly Marvel's most epic movie yet (we bet you did the double foot stomp during "Hooked on a Feeling" as well). Make no mistake about it - this movie was a risk. It was an unknown property to most people and whether or not anyone would even be interested in seeing it was a legitimate question up until recently. Marvel Studios have, however, smashed it out of the park in no uncertain terms and, as a result, blown what was previously their biggest hitter - The Avengers - completely out of the water. We thought we'd been spoiled with the superhero ensemble that signalled the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Phase One", but this movie took things to new heights on all fronts (honestly, if you haven't seen it yet - whether you're a fan of comic book movies or not - go as soon as you can. This has "cult classic" written all over it and people will be watching and enjoying it for years to come). On that note, we're here to tell you why this is Marvel's best movie to date and why the smash hit that was the Avengers movie isn't a patch on it. Here are ten reasons why Guardians of the Galaxy is better than The Avengers (contains spoilers, obviously!)...

Honourable Mention: Thanos!

Granted, Thanos' brief appearance in this movie (he's on screen for a mere couple of minutes) doesn't improve the quality of the movie as a whole, but it does provide a little bit of one-upmanship over its Avengers counterpart. Thanos was one of the most memorable things people took away from the Avengers movie, after his brief appearance and malicious grin in the mid-credits scene, but to see him in all his glory - and to hear him speak for the first time - in Guardians of the Galaxy was a bit special and something a lot of us have been waiting for for a number of years. He looked awesome - resembling Josh Brolin more than we expected - and Brolin did a grand job of making the Mad Titan sound threatening and powerful, as he sat on his floating chair in a remote area of space, pulling the evil strings from behind the scenes. And now on to the actual list...
