7. Awesome Aesthetics

This movie is stunning. There's no other way to put it. The near 100% CGI settings were immaculately presented and locations such as Knowhere, Morag, the Kyln and Xandar looked nothing short of astonishing, as a whole host of cosmic locations from the comic books were brought to life beautifully. Everything from the characters (even those created using make-up) to the items of power they were wielding and the vehicles they were using was created to perfection. The funny thing is, when Thor: The Dark World came to a climax and the Collector was seen in his warehouse along with all his weird items, people criticised the look of the scene. In fact, Alan Taylor - the director of that film - completely distanced himself from the scene, stating it was all down to James Gunn and effectively wanting nothing to do with it. Moreover, viewers weren't impressed either - with some saying it looked like something from a low-budget television show like Red Dwarf. And now look - what actually came from that scene was an infinitely better movie than Thor: The Dark World and one that was visually as good as any movie we can remember.
