10 Reasons James Bond Is A Terrible Spy

9. He Always Uses His Actual Name

Bond Gif Sticking to spying basics, in what universe does Bond live where he can give his name out to everyone who wants him dead and still remain alive? I'm sure people will jump on this straight away with any aliases he's used but the majority of the time he inexplicably just resorts to 'Bond, James Bond'. There are some theories running around that James Bond is just a code name but I'm taking the films at face value. With that in mind why would a British Intelligence Agent, whose primary duty is to be a ghost asset tell everyone who he is? I'm sure there must be a picture of the guy on every villain's notice board. It doesn't make any sense; he shamelessly taunts highly dangerous men (who usually command private armies) by loudly announcing his presence. There's something to be said for confidence but the way he enters situations only paints a target on his back and leads to confrontations left right and centre. When we focus on when he can actually be bothered to change his name, the villain generally does a background check and finds his real identity in seconds. This is because he doesn't disguise himself or his name, which makes him a personal enemy to terrorists and master criminals around the world. His presence instantly associates his actions with the UK's intelligence services which could potentially cause some tricky diplomatic situations. How does he tackle this complex problem you ask? By blowing everything and everyone he can to smithereens.
