With Endgame on face value seeming like the perfect ending to the MCU in general, floating about film forums on the internet will actually present you with a fair amount of people who are satisfied enough with the ending to stop watching the MCU’s future instalments, regardless of quality.

Whether all of these people genuinely intended to stop watching or not, it’s much more likely that they’ll be willing to keep going with the seemingly never-ending franchise through a universally known character that ties directly into the plot of Endgame.

It’s less certain that people would be lining up the way they will for Far From Home if a new character were to be the follow-up – for example The Eternals or Shang-Chi.
