10 Ridiculously Overused Movie Locations

There's a lot to be said about a great movie location; it can set the stage for some of cinema's most iconic moments, though the inevitable problem is that if one movie production makes good cinematic use of it, countless other productions are going to be bound to follow its lead. Though some of these movie locations are themselves just too iconic not to repeatedly become the stage for an epic blockbuster finale, others are simply buildings that either for their unique look or practical shooting location tend to always catch the eye of Hollywood. Some of these locations I'm happy to see every time they appear in a movie, and others I'm absolutely sick to death of watching. Here are the 10 most ridiculously overused movie locations...

10. Greystone Mansion

Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills is a lush, classy location that's also extremely convenient for Hollywood, given that it's placed bang in the middle of Hollywood and can be reached by anyone by car in no time. It's been featured in pictures as diverse as There Will Be Blood (as Daniel Plainview's luxurious estate) and The Muppets (Kermitt's home), as well as the Spider-Man movies (the Osborn estate). Basically, if there's ever a call for Americans to seem debonair and the production crew don't want to fly to the UK for some shooting, they'll drive fifteen minutes through Hollywood and end up here. there will be blood greystone mansion The Social Network, The Prestige, X-Men (the garden scenes of Professor Xavier's school), National Treasure, Hell, even a good deal of Eraserhead was shot there, which is just a hilarious contrast of the bizarre and the dapper (though was likely a result of the AFI formerly being stationed at the mansion).
