10 Scenes That Would Ruin Star Wars 7

No Gungans please.

It might have wrapped production and been given an official title, but it still doesn't feel like Episode VII is really happening. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to release on December 18 nest year, and it's got more resting on its shoulders than any other film in recent memory. After the incredibly disappointing prequel trilogy, it seemed unlikely that the sequels to the original trilogy would ever happen. After the acquisition of the Star Wars franchise by Disney of all studios, many fans were understandably wishing it had stayed that way. From what's been unveiled so far though, director J.J. Abrams appears to be on the right track. Physical special effects are being used heavily in favour of the much reviled CGI extremities of the prequel trilogy, and pre-release material shows off a dirty, gritty universe much like the one audiences fell in love with back in 1977. While the prospects of Episode VII look more promising than we could have dreamed a few years ago, it remains to be seen whether Star Wars: The Force Awakens can possibly live up to over 37 years of nostalgia. This list takes a look at 10 scenes that we can only hope Abrams has avoided at all costs, if the film has any hope of living up to the classic originals.
