10 Scrapped Movie Sequels That Would Have Been Amazing

10. The Breakfast Club 2

There aren't any sequels in John Hughes' too-short directorial resume, though he did write the surprisingly great Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, so there's no reason to think he couldn't have scripted an equally great follow-up to The Breakfast Club. Hughes had his sights set on a sequel that would find the original group of high school detainees together again ten years later. The exact story idea was never fleshed out (or at least, never publicly stated), though the director did specify that in order for the sequel to work, the actors would have to age well enough to portray the older versions of their characters. And that's likely why we never saw a Breakfast Club 2. While waiting for Mother Nature to do her thing, Molly Ringwald took an extended hiatus from acting, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall went into more indie fare, Emilio Estevez was busy being Gordon Bombay, and Judd Nelson had a major falling out with Hughes. In the meantime, most of the cast has refused to work on a sequel or remake, leaving the brain, the beauty, the jock, the rebel, and the recluse to live in that one moment in time.
