10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Suicide Squad

Because the Suicide Squad hunting Batman is an awesome idea.

Suicide Squad is pretty much The Dirty Dozen, only this time the dozen are DC comic supervillains. If that's not a movie premise designed to get you seriously interested in watching a movie, what is? The relatively secretive nature of Suicide Squad has resulted in a bunch of rumours, theories and speculations regarding the story and characters, all of which - coupled with those surrounding Batman V Superman - have ensured that excitement levels are through the roof. Here's some of the craziest (but still believable) theories doing the rounds...

10. Amanda Waller Will Have Aquaman's Trident Locked In A Trophy Case

To kick things off, how about this wacky theory, then? Though it's not thought that Aquaman (played by Game Of Thrones and Conan The Barbarian's Jason Momoa) will make an actual appearance in Suicide Squad, there's one shocking theory doing the rounds that concerns the water-based superhero's iconic weapon. That's right: his trident. This particular theory has it that Waller, obsessed with capturing pretty much every superhero and villain on the planet in an attempt to gain complete control over the world's superior beings, has done something sinister with Aquaman and - as a result - has opted to keep his weapon as a trophy to celebrate her fine achievement. Whether this theory has any weight depends on whether Suicide Squad turns out to be a prequel or a sequel to Batman V Superman. Aquaman is rumoured to appear in a small capacity in Dawn Of Justice, after all - could this be a legitimate connection? Admittedly, there's a sense of sketchiness to the theory given that there already so much going on in Suicide Squad, but, hey, you never know: it could serve as a nice easter egg.
