9. Han Fails To Understand What Leia's On About

Following the gang's escape from the Death Star (minus Obi-Wan) in A New Hope, Princess Leia is convinced the Empire deliberately let them go. Han scoffs at this notion, and Leia insists the Empire must be tracking the Millennium Falcon.

"Not this ship, sister," says Han, with a smirk on his face that suggests he thinks Leia is just an idiot girl who doesn't understand how spaceships work.

Han is completely, idiotically wrong. The Empire has indeed planted a tracking device on the Falcon and follows it straight to the hidden rebel base on Yavin IV. Han could have stopped off anywhere on the way, in one of the many smuggler's hideouts and galactic backwaters he must know about, to sweep the ship for bugs or even just change ships to be sure.

But he doesn't. The idea doesn't even occur to him, even when Leia has specifically warned him about it. Han's hot-headedness and confidence make him charming, but here he slips into full arrogant jerkbag mode, and the Rebellion is almost wiped out as a result.
