10 Superhero Teams Who Deserve A Movie After Guardians Of The Galaxy

Just because they guard the entire galaxy, it doesn't mean there aren't other worthwhile superhero teams out there, you know.

It's official: Marvel is the most successful cinematic brand on the planet. What other comic company can boast that they're responsible for not one, but two of the five biggest grossing movies of all time? Avengers Assemble and Iron Man 3 were colossal successes in every sense of the word, but the House of Ideas shows no signs of slowing down. In 2014 alone, comic book fans have been spoiled for choice, with movies like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 all becoming huge smashes at the box office, despite their overly long titles... Now that X-Men: Days of Future Past has been released, superhero fanatics only have one more big release to queue up for this year... but if the trailers are anything to go by, it could be the best one yet. Guardians of the Galaxy is based on a largely unknown property in terms of mainstream audiences and while many could consider this to be a gamble, it's refreshing that Marvel are taking risks and exploring the companies rich heritage, rather than simply relying on their big guns. Superhero team movies are particularly successful because they bring a number of beloved characters to life and when the ensemble is balanced right, the pay off is huge. If Guardians of the Galaxy is as popular as Marvel hope, it could pave the way for more superhero teams to make their way onto the big screen... and we're not just talking Marvel here. DC may be behind Marvel in the film stakes, but now that they've confirmed a Justice League of America movie is on its way, it's only a matter of time before the publisher reaches back to adapt more teams from their expansive back catalog. Clearly, these properties are big business, so let's take a look at 10 superhero teams who deserve a movie after Guardians of the Galaxy and see if your favorite made the cut...
