10 Terrible 2012 Films That Will Get Sequels Anyway

9. Prometheus

Prometheus Years ago, when director Ridley Scott, the man who helmed the original masterpiece in the Alien film saga, announced he was in the works to make another installment we couldn't help but jump out of our skin with excitement. Then we waited and waited and waited, and when production finally rolled on Prometheus, it was worth the wait to know a new film was coming. Touted as more of a "reboot" set in the Alien universe, Prometheus was released in June of 2012 to much eagerness. Regrettably, after years of waiting and one hell of a teaser trailer, most audiences found Scott's new take on the saga to be bland and quite predictable once it finally hit theaters. A sci-fi series with over 30 years of an established fan base has a lot to live up to, and although it made 3 times its $100 million budget, it was deemed a disappointment to the die-hards. Currently, a sequel is in the early stages of development with Scott on board again, hopefully a little wiser from the flub that is Prometheus.
