10 Terrible Movies That Tricked Us With Awesome Posters

What The Poster Promised Us: A darker, more brooding Spider-Man in sharp contrast to the wholesome, all-American superhero we’re normally used to. Clad in black, Spidey’s costume not only suggests he’s about to get a little less nerdy and a lot more nasty it also teased the introduction of one of Spider-Man’s greatest and most popular foes, the Venom Symbiote.

What We Actually Got: Peter Parker going through an awkward teenage rebellion a couple of years too late who looks more like he’s taking sartorial cues from emo culture rather than under the influence of an evil alien symbiote complete with a jazz club dance routine so cringeworthy it caused second-hand embarrassment for all who witnessed it.

Although we got Venom in Eddie Brock form, the villain was shoehorned in alongside a hotchpotch of other bad guys and criminally underdeveloped. Truly a case of too many villains spoiling the broth that signalled the death of an initially promising Spider-Man franchise.
