10 Theme Park Rides Inspired By Movies We Need To Ride

10. The Dark Knight Coaster

The Dark Knight Coaster Entrance Six Flags Great America Featured at various Six Flags locations (Great Adventure, Great America, and Mexico) The Dark Knight Coaster was strategically opened about the same time the film was released back in 2008. The entire ride is enclosed indoors like Disney's Space Mountain, but more mild in nature (and less dangerous). The entire premise for the ride is that the Joker is coming to get you. Four people are loaded into a cart and shown a video of Harvey Dent giving a press conference. When Dent is asked about face cards being left at crime scenes the Joker takes over the ride and many HA, HA's ensue. From there the ride is a fast-paced, surprising little coaster chase through Gotham City's noir lit streets as the audience attempts to escape the clown's wrath. Overall the ride has been praised for its theatricality and family oriented fun. The only complaints against it are that the coaster is your simply variation of a "wild mouse" or what you find at the local carnival. There's nothing too incredibly special to be had if you're a rip-roaring, thrill-seeking, roller coaster fan, but a lot to enjoy if you love Batman.
