In between Homecoming and Far From Home, and while he was being snapped back into existence for Endgame, Tom Holland was approached about once again reprising his role as Peter Parker. In this case, though, it was for a cameo in enormously imaginative, off-the-wall animation Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

Rodney Rothman, Spider-Verse's co-writer and co-director, admitted to penning scenes featuring cameos for not only Holland, but also former live action Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. "At one point I was supposed to be in it," Holland later confirmed when talking up how much he enjoyed these alternate takes on his character, "Never happened. Heartbroken."

But what if it had? Far From Home might have been a very different experience if this Peter Parker had already encountered a bunch of alternate universe versions of himself.

For a start, it would definitely put a different gloss on Quentin Beck's false claims to have been transported from a parallel universe if Peter had had something similar happen to him for real in the time between his previous solo movie and this.
