10 Things To Expect From Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3

Expect plenty of awesomeness.

It has definitely been an exciting couple of weeks to be a fan of comic book movies, that's for sure. Not long after DC and Warner Bros. announced their slate of upcoming superhero movies through to 2020, the box office juggernaut that is Marvel Studios followed suit at yesterday's special event and announced the entire lineup and release dates for Phase 3 of their shared cinematic universe, a selection of titles that tantalizingly promises to introduce several new properties alongside the studio's existing crop of heroes. Alongside the recently-released first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, footage from the upcoming TV series Agent Carter and leaked photos from the set of Ant-Man, the Marvel news was already flowing thick and fast this week before yesterday's announcements blew everything else out of the water. Despite the studio's upcoming calendar not featuring a fourth Iron Man outing or standalone movies for popular characters Black Widow and Hulk, there are still plenty of reasons to be excited about how the fallout from Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel will affect the Marvel Cinematic Universe at large over the next five years. With that in mind, its time to take a look at every movie announced for Phase 3 in an attempt to figure out what the future holds for Marvel Studios' interconnected universe. Using some background information on the comic book characters, any information currently available on the projects and a whole lot of speculation, this article will attempt to figure out what path the recently-announced projects could take and just how they could establish themselves into the existing continuity of the MCU. So read on, see if you agree and feel free to offer your two cents on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What do you think of the lineup for Phase 3? Which movie are you most excited about? Are there any Marvel projects you were hoping for that weren't announced? As always, sign off in the comments below.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
