Who doesn’t love Mark Hamill? The actor-cum-Twitter master is one of the most genuine people working in Hollywood, a simple fan who finds himself as the icon for not just an generation, but three.

The first big panel of Star Wars Celebration was An Hour With Mark Hamill, and Luke was on top form, more than making up for his lack of dialogue in The Force Awakens. It was sixty minutes (technically a bit more because he just wouldn’t stop talking) of Dad jokes, self-deprecation and exciting tid-bits about the making of the generation-spanning saga.

Perhaps my favourite bit was when he told how he asked George Lucas pre-release for all the merchandising, something that led to what he calls a Sorcerer’s Apprentice of toys. But there’s more Star Wars specific jokes than just that. Here’s the ten most interesting things we learned, from the making of the original movie to what we can expect from Episode VIII.
