7. She Was Fired From Her First Big Acting Role

Amanda Seyfried may have what it takes nowadays to star in huge Hollywood movies, but she wasn't always comfortable in front of the camera. What you probably didn't know is that the actress was fired when she was 15-years-old because she was... well, terrible, apparently. In her own words, then:
"I'll be honest, I was pretty bad starting out. When I was 15, I was on As the World Turns, and I was so bad they had to ship my character off. It was absolutely, without a doubt, because I was that bad. I was so uncomfortable. I had it in me, but if you aren't comfortable, you can't access your skill. I was devastated. You always think it's the end of the world. I remember crying on the pier near my house on the Hudson River."
Not very nice, though she cites this incident as the one that made her a stronger actress; she spent eight months in the aftermath of said firing preparing her audition technique and pulling herself together. That led to her being cast in All My Children, which - in turn - lead to Mean Girls. And speaking of Mean Girls...
