10 Things You Didn't Know About Fight Club

10. Peter Jackson/Bryan Singer & Danny Boyle Almost Directed The Movie

Chances are that, had David Fincher not agreed to helm Fight Club, it wouldn't have turned out to be a bonafide masterpiece and classic for the ages. But imagine a Fight Club directed by the likes of Peter Jackson, Bryan Singer or Danny Boyle - all of whom were considered by the producers to direct the movie before Fincher got his filthy little mitts around it. Jackson, in fact, was considered to be "the best choice" by the head honchos over at 20th Century Fox after he'd impressed them with the likes of Beautiful Creatures. Unfortunately for them, Jackson was too busy filming The Frighteners (his worst movie, oddly) and couldn't commit to the project, whilst second choice Bryan Singer didn't bother reading the book and third choice Danny Boyle almost considered the project but ended up filming The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio instead. So Fincher got the gig in the end; which, ultimately, turned out to be a stroke of genius.
