9. As A Child She Was On Sesame Street

Her early life afforded Dawson with some vital early life lessons, her mother and step-father's DIY approach to home ownership instilling the actor with the philosophy €œIf you wanted something better, you had to do it all yourself.€ Of course, that's a pretty heavy lesson to lay on a kid. They need to be able to learn basic Math and Spanish, too. Along with eventually paving the way for her to play Mimi in Rent, Rosario Dawson's upbringing in downtown New York also prepared her for one her much earlier roles: as a kid in Sesame Street, Jim Henson's educational Muppet program now famous for celebrity cameos by everyone from Katy Perry to Patrick Stewart. Dawson's early television role €“ beating Daredevil by a couple of decades or so €“ saw her appearing as herself in a short documentary piece that went away from the main Sesame Street set and into New York itself, where she was interviewed about an inner-city garden full of plants and wildlife she used to hang out in with her friends.
