10 Things You Didn't Know About Rosario Dawson

6. ...And A Kasabian One, And An Outkast One

Rosario Dawson has form for famous musical buddies, mind, as well as appearing on their albums. She never had any proper singing training until she starred in Rent €“ an experience she described as akin to being a Disney Princess, albeit without the glamorous outfits €“ but since then she's been making up for lost time. Dawson sings on €œWest Ryder Silver Bullet€, a track from British lad-rock revivalists Kasabian's third album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Apparently she'd been spotted at one of the band's shows and songwriter Sergio Pizzorno contacted her through a friend-of-a-friend, not realising she could actually sing. When the track was finished, she allegedly played it to Quentin Tarantino, who loved it. On the other side of the musical genre pond Dawson performed a similar monologue as she did for Prince on Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. The album, which features the colossal hit €œHey Ya€, had Dawson performing the intro and a brief interlude.
