10 Unbearably Awkward Movie Posters

9. 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' Ruins Christmas For Kids Everywhere

Silent Night Deadly Night I'm pretty sure that Silent Night, Deadly Night ruined the horror genre for a lot of adults, but more egregiously, it also burned itself into the psyche of an entire generation of children by way of this daring poster, which features Father Christmas climbing down a chimney with an axe in hand. While the poster is actually pretty cool, the fact that it was placed in cinema foyers isn't so much, resulting in scores of distraught children wondering why Saint Nick had such an erratic change of heart. Eventually, angry parents began protesting cinemas that were screening the film, and distributor TriStar was forced to pull pretty much all of its advertising for the movie, which no doubt only helped it gross its budget back three-fold.
