10 Unlikely Actors Who Were Almost Cast In Iconic Movie Roles

10. Kevin Costner - Bill (Kill Bill, Vol. 1 & 2)

8d76f53f David Carradine feels like a casting choice so inherently Tarantino, as if the infamous writer/director had conjured up the part of "Bill" - the ruthless assassin boss who forms the basis of The Bride's revenge quest - especially for the former Kung Fu star. There's even a reference to that particular TV show in Pulp Fiction, after all. It might come as a bit of a surprise, then, to discover that Carradine was actually Tarantino's second choice for the part: he originally asked Kevin Costner to assume the role of Bill, presumably as a way of continuing his ongoing mission to "revitalise" failing actor's careers. Costner declined on the basis that he was about to start production on his actually excellent western Open Range, but watching Uma Thurman face off against the former box office champion would have sure made for an extremely bizarre (but certainly interesting) movie show-down.
