10 Unspeakably Awful Films Made By Oscar Winners

9. The House Bunny

The House Bunny
Columbia Pictures

Looking back, it is totally forgivable that Emma Stone ended up appearing in this film. The House Bunny came out just a year after her breakout performance in Superbad, and given the off color humor of that film, maybe she thought this would sort of be a natural follow up to her first performance.

At any rate, it's fair to say that at this early stage of her career, it's understandable that she would want to take any projects that were offered to her. So we get it.

But God, is The House Bunny a terrible film. She stars as one of the girls from the ugly fraternity (lol yeah right), which is completely turned around and given a makeover when a former Playboy bunny shows up on campus and is inexplicably given the opportunity to become their house mother.

Really, the biggest offense of this film is that it has the gall to try to pass both Stone and her fellow cast members as awkward little freaks when they are all clearly attractive Hollywood actresses, which is just cynical and annoying.

But really, what more can you expect from director Fred Wolf, whose biggest directorial credit besides this is Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser?
