10 Upcoming Comic Book Movie Decisions That Have Already Angered Fans

10. No Patrick Stewart Or Ian McKellen In The New X-Men

The news broke just the other morning that, amongst all the other casting changes in the upcoming eighties-set X-Men: Apocalypse, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen would not be returning in their iconic roles as Professor X and Magneto, respectively. People were not impressed. Understandably so. Stewart and McKellen have been if not the backbone that the thing that has given the X-Men franchise any semblance of credibility, with performances that elevated the goofy superheroic of Marvel's mightiest mutants (but couldn't quite save The Last Stand, natch). It appears Days Of Future Past was a last hurrah for the original core X-Men cast €“ although no doubt they'll shoehorn cash cow Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in there somehow €“ and 2016's Apocalypse will continue with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender in the younger roles.
