Because 23 superhero movies in four years seems something akin to excessive, don't you think? Sure, we understand why such a thing is happening, and what the reasoning is: superhero - and comic book - movies make lots and lots of money. For the movie studios, it's a no-brainer. Why risk original projects when you've got something already popular and well-established that can be used to bring in the cash?
