10 Upcoming Movie Adaptations That Prove There Is No God

Tmnt 2014 If movie remakes are Hollywood's bread, then adaptations are its butter, supplanting original ideas in a cinematic diet which is sometimes wholesome and occasionally daring, but more often than not leaving the viewer slightly unfulfilled and undernourished. Adaptations per se aren't necessarily a bad thing. Over the years there have been numerous good ones and some particularly fine examples, from literary adaptations such as The Godfather, Fight Club and The Remains of the Day through to endless comic book adaptations, many of which are average but some - such as the recent X-Men: Days of Future Past - which do full justice to the spirit of the source material. Even the most unlikely of sources can be turned into wonderful movies, as this year's unexpected little gem The Lego Movie has proven. Some, however, leave audiences thinking to themselves, why on earth did they bother? The following list covers ten upcoming adaptations which fall directly into that category; movies which from the off prove that sometimes Hollywood really does clutch at pointless straws. Time may prove us wrong and these could turn out to be great films, but we're not holding our breath in anticipation...
