10 Upcoming Movies Everybody Will Watch With Hidden Agendas

Everyone's thinking it.

Star Wars The Last Jedi Leia

At the end of the day, movie studios don't really care why you watch a movie as long as do it (and pay to do so, of course).

There are few marketing tools more powerful than a beloved brand name or a talented cast and crew, and while these 10 movies are each likely to be considerable box office successes as a result, they will also see audiences flocking to cinemas with a certain set of prejudices and expectations already firmly in place.

There will of course be those more casual audiences who simply want to see attractive people playing pretend and a few neat explosions, but for film buffs at large, it'll be practically impossible to sit through these movies without a not-so-subtle hidden agenda ticking over in your head the entire time...

10. Glass

Glass Bruce Willis
Universal

Why You Should Watch It: Because M. Night Shyamalan's back to making good movies again, and in being a sequel to both Unbreakable and Split, he just might end up delivering the low-key superhero threequel we never knew we wanted.

Plus, in a sea of $200 million comic book tentpoles, isn't something this "grounded" just a teensy bit refreshing?

Why You'll Actually Watch It: To see if Bruce Willis is actually capable of giving a damn anymore. He hasn't delivered a good performance since 2012's Looper - no, his Split cameo doesn't count - and Glass' trailer doesn't give a whole lot away about Willis reprising the role of David Dunn.

Will he end up being the weak link and turning in another mailed-in performance, or will he surprise everyone and actually try for the first time in seven years? It's totally up in the air, and everyone wants to know if Bruce still has it.
