10 Upcoming Movies That Have Already Pissed Everyone Off

9. Live-Action Lady And The Tramp

Charlies Angels
Disney+

Aside from the usual clambering about Disney making another live action remake of one of their classics, which is going to happen each time one of these comes out. As a matter of fact, if I had to guess I'd say this won't be the only one on our list.

Nonetheless, one of the bigger criticisms that seems to have riled fans' fur is the fact that Disney has announced the removal of the 'Siamese Cat' song wherein two Siamese cats torture the titular hero and heroine by doing dastardly deeds and blaming it on the dogs. The reasoning, of course, being that the depiction of the cats and their accents are entirely racist Asian caricatures - similar to Mickey Rooney's portrayal of Mr. Yuniyoshi in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Many are upset that Disney is becoming too politically correct and assert that the song isn't racist because it is about cats, and not people. Some even agree that the caricatures of the cats and the accent in which the song is sung is a stereotypical racist depiction of Asians. Even then, many fans are still getting their coats ruffled because they claim, racist or not, the song is only offensive to cats. A hot take going around is also that the song is true because several owners of Siamese cats say the stereotype against the short-haired creatures is 100% justified and that they are all just furry assholes.
