2. Life In A Year - Jaden Smith

Yes, it might take a lot for people to turn around their perceptions of walking meme Jaden Smith, but if you can put aside his social media persona - which seems to be a heavily constructed thing - and focus on his acting ability alone, there's talent in there.

That's a big ask though, at times.

After doing well on The Get Down, Smith's next project is the English language debut of Mitja Okorn, Life In A Year, in which he plays a boy aiming to give his girlfriend a full life when he discovers she is dying. It will no doubt be emotionally manipulative and there's huge potential for it to be cloying and saccharine, but it should put Smith into the frame as a strong YA romance lead - and that's a solid gold door into the A-list these days.

As long as he doesn't distract from the marketing campaign by being really bloody weird, of course.
