10 Upcoming Remakes That Could Be Better Than The Original

Not all remakes are a bad idea...

Remake. It's a word that hardly inspires confidence in the announcement of an upcoming release. Sometimes it might be called a reboot or reimagining, but the essential point remains the same: we've seen it all before and probably with much more style. Still, if there's a reason behind why so many remakes are so terrible, it's perhaps on account of the fact that, more often than not, the studios involved in remakes are doing it for a quick buck - in short, they couldn't really care less about the integrity of the source material beyond is proven track record making money at the box office. To make matters worse, remakes are often new versions of films which were pretty damned good in the first place, in many cases their only crime being filmed in a language other than English. Successful remakes, on the other hand, tend to be based on films which had a decent concept but the execution was average at best, providing that leeway for potential improvement; or effects-based movies which would benefit from the latest in cinematic technology. In these cases, the remake is far more justified and often worth watching. With this in mind, let's take a look at ten potentially awesome remakes heading our way.
