10 Ways Phase 3 Could Ruin The Marvel Cinematic Universe

7. Banking Too Heavily On Spider-Man...

Most of Marvel's upcoming plans outside of Age Of Ultron have been forgotten in the light of another recent development: their historic agreement with Sony to co-produce all future Spider-Man films, which that studio has had the rights to for years, bringing the character into their Shared Cinematic Universe whilst also allowing Sony all creative control over the movies they make. Which is pretty rad news in one sense, because Spider-Man is a pretty integral part of the universe of the comic books. His absence was definitely felt in the MCU up until this point, and that he's debuting in Civil War, the third Captain America film, makes sense considering how important he is to that comic. Marvel have been ludicrously accommodating for Spidey, finding him a place in the Cap film that's already way into production and shuffling their schedule around so there's room for another of his solo movies. But considering the relative dearth of quality in every Spider-Man film in the past decade, should they been relying on this cinematic turkey quite so much?
